A scaffold walk-through Frame is a type of scaffolding frame that allows workers to pass through the scaffold without having to climb over it. It consists of two vertical posts connected by horizontal and diagonal braces, forming a rectangular frame. The frame has a hinged gate or trapdoor at the bottom, which can be opened to allow workers to pass through.
To assemble a scaffold walk-through frame, follow these steps:
1. Choose a suitable location for the scaffold and ensure that the ground is level and stable.
2. Place the base plates on the ground and insert the vertical posts into them.
3. Connect the horizontal and diagonal braces to the vertical posts using locking pins or bolts.
4. Install the walk-through gate or trapdoor at the bottom of the frame, making sure it is securely attached.
5. Repeat the process to assemble additional frames and connect them together using cross braces and tie bars.
6. Install the scaffold planks on the horizontal braces, ensuring they are level and secured in place.
7. Install guardrails and toe boards on the scaffold to provide additional safety for workers.
8. Inspect the scaffold before use to ensure it is stable, secure, and meets all safety requirements.
When dismantling the scaffold, follow the reverse order of the steps above, starting with removing the planks, guardrails, and toe boards, then removing the cross braces and tie bars, followed by the walk-through gates or trapdoors, and finally removing the horizontal and diagonal braces and vertical posts. Ensure that all components are stored safely and securely for future use.
